The Italian American Club of Oyster Bay is a social club located in the heart of Oyster Bay, New York. Our club provides a welcoming environment for those who wish to understand more about the Italian culture, connect with friends in the area, partake in many social events and to serve the community of Oyster Bay

Important Dates in October:
October 1 – (Italy) Opening of the Alba White Truffle Festival: The beginning of the prestigious festival honoring the highly sought-after white truffle, a culinary treasure deeply rooted in the gastronomy of Italy’s Piedmont region.
– (Italy) International Coffee Day: Honoring the cherished ritual of coffee consumption with a nod to Italy’s iconic coffee brands that have shaped espresso culture worldwide.
October 3 – (Italy) Commemoration of the Death of Saint Francis of Assisi (1226): Reflecting on the life and teachings of Saint Francis, with his feast honored the following day.
October 4 – (Italy) Feast of St. Francis of Assisi: Commemorating the patron saint of animals and the environment.
– (Italy) Feast of Saint Petronius of Bologna: Honoring the protector of Bologna, a city worth visiting.
October 6 – (Italy) Inaugural Radio Broadcast in Italy (1924): Marking the anniversary of Italy’s first radio broadcast, showcasing the country’s historical contributions to communication technology, including this significant Italian invention.
October 8 – (Italy) Remembering the Death of Cola di Rienzo (1354): Honoring the memory of the visionary Roman tribune.
October 9 – (Italy) International Beer and Pizza Day: Combining two staples of casual dining, this day pays homage to the country’s delicious contributions to the world of pizza, paired with the growing appreciation for Italian beer brands.

October 19 – (Italy) Beatification of Mother Teresa in Rome (2003): Commemorating the day Mother Teresa was declared blessed in Rome.
– (Italy) Beatification of Pope Paul VI in Rome (2014): Marking the day Pope Paul VI was beatified in Rome.
October 25 – Meatball Cook-Off challenge at the club
October 26 – (Italy) Remembering Carlo Collodi (1890): Honoring the creator of the Adventures of Pinocchio.
October 30 – Annual Halloween Party at the club
October 31 – (Italy) Completion of the Sistine Chapel Frescoes by Michelangelo (1512): Commemorating the magnificent artistic achievement.
- Halloween (Celebrated in the US): Though not traditionally Italian, the holiday is marked by Italian Americans and showcases the global reach of this spooky celebration.
Italian Heritage Month
Italian American Heritage and Culture Month is celebrated by proclamation of the President and Congress in the United States to honor the achievements and contributions of Italian immigrants and their descendants living in the United States, particularly in the arts, science, and culture.
The proclamation was led by the Italian senator Tate Downs. Events are held throughout the month to celebrate and educate the public about Italian American history and culture. It was first celebrated in 1989. The heritage month is in October to coincide with Columbus Day, the American national holiday traditionally celebrated on October 12, now celebrated on the second Monday in October

The selection of the IACC as honoree at its biggest and most important fundraiser of the year is a very public (and well deserved) recognition of the IACC's tremendous generosity in providing food and gifts at the holidays, scholarships to our young people, and always there to lend a hand to anyone in need- whatever the cause, wherever the need, in whatever way. we can help.
Oyster Fest
Oyster Fest is coming to the club Saturday & Sunday October 17th – 18th. We will have food, live music and unbelievable beverage specials. Get the word out. Bring your family and friends for an enjoyable, relaxing weekend at the club. Meatball Cookoff
The club’s October cook-off will be held on Sunday, October 25th. This month’s battle will be for who has the best meatballs!

Halloween Party
The club’s annual Halloween party will be held on Friday, October 30th. The bar room will be transformed into a scary place! Wear your best costume, bring your friends and family to this incredible event. Prizes for best costume will be awarded. Fun for all, games, beverage specials, spooky food and music! Fall Bocce
Fall Bocce is here! Mixed League Tuesday’s & Thursday . The Men’s League schedule is also full with 6 teams and will start on Wednesday September 9th. Schedules are on the board. Our Club
Features
Our members enjoy many club activities including three outdoor bocce courts that feature a surface of crushed oyster shells, two outdoor firepits, barbeques, plenty of outdoor seating and a full-service bar. Inside we have a full bar that features top shelf liquor, bottled and tap beer, televisions that show the latest sporting events, darts and a full-service kitchen for catered events. In addition, we have a lovely function hall or member lounge area. It's great for all size events up to 100 people.

About Us
Club History
The Italian American Citizens Club of Oyster Bay was founded in 1906 when a group of Italian Americans in the Oyster Bay area met with former president Theodore Roosevelt at Sagamore Hill to ask for his permission to start the club. After permission was granted, the club was founded and given its first official name of The Italian American Democratic Club of Oyster Bay. That name would remain until 1941 when the official club name was changed to the Italian American Citizens Club of Oyster Bay.
Our club was originally located on Audrey Avenue eventually moving to West Main street until 1948 when the club moved to our current location at 48 Summit street.
Our charter is to promote Italian traditions and culture in America and create a family friendly environment that is host to a variety of traditional social and educational events.
